“Wine is the poetry of the earth” Mario Soldati
Our property spreads over about 13 hectares; 3 of those, located on the gentle slopes of the hills of S. Vito, are covered with vineyards only. The south-east and south-west exposure of the vineyards, a height of 360 metres above sea level and a clayey soil are fully reflected in our wines. The moderate yield per hectare along with the extreme care we put into the vineyard allow us to bring into the cellar healthy ripe grapes, from which we obtain well-structured and well-balanced wines, with enjoyable and rich aromas. The attention to detail that our customers recognize in our wines are for us a source of great satisfaction and pride. Here, our guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a free tasting of our wine range.
We produce red wines only:
- Langhe Nebbiolo DOC: It’s a dry red wine produced from 100% nebbiolo grapes, usually harvested at the beginning of October. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 12 months in steel tanks and for 6 months in the bottle. Our vineyards are located in the Roero area, where the soil is clayey and sandy. This wine is ruby red in colour, with orange shades after the aging process, aromas of red fruit, and a soft velvety taste with a good tannic balance. It can age from 8 to 10 years and goes well with red meat, game and aged cheeses. Serving temperature 16/18 °.
- Piemonte Barbera DOC: This is the classic dry red wine from Piedmont, one of the most loved and appreciated wines. It is produced from 100% barbera grapes, usually harvested in mid-September. It is fermented in steel tanks and it is allowed to rest at first in steel tanks for 12 months, and then in the bottle for another 6 months. It is ruby red in colour, with violet hues and a bouquet reminiscent of cherries and blackberries. The taste is soft and cool. This wine keeps well from 3 to 4 years. Served at 16/18 °, it is ideal with pasta, meats and fresh or medium-aged cheeses.
- Langhe Freisa DOC: This wine is produced with 100% freisa DOC grapes, grown in the area of Montà and harvested in September. This dry red wine is fermented in steel tanks, aged for 12 months in steel tanks and then ages for another 6 months in the bottle. It is ruby red in colour and has an aroma of raspberries. The taste is dry, with a good structure and slightly tannic. It keeps well from 3 to 4 years and it should be served at a temperature of 16/18 °. - Caio: It is a particularly dry rosé wine obtained from the vinification of 100% brachetto grapes grown in the municipality of Montà. The grapes are usually harvested in mid-September and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks following a cold maceration process. The wine is aged for 8 months in steel tanks and bottled ready to be consumed. It presents rose hues, an intense aroma of wild roses and a dry lovely taste. Serve chilled, 8/10 °. It’s excellent as an aperitif, with vegetables appetizers or at the end of the meal with pastries and cake.
