This is not an end in itself, but the result of a journey that began long before by eliminating synthetic pesticides, working the soil in a way that preserves its structure and respecting the rhythms of the seasons without forcing them.<br \/>\nFarming organically means taking care of a land that belongs to everyone.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ponchietta.com\/en\/wines\/\">Discover our organic wines \u2192<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter dividi\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/cascina\/images\/pallini.svg\" alt=\"divisore\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Energy from the sun<\/h2>\n<p>Since 2016, the farm has been generating electricity using a <strong>photovoltaic system<\/strong>. We also use <strong>solar thermal panels<\/strong> to heat the water in the swimming pool changing rooms, thereby reducing energy consumption associated with hospitality.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter dividi\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/cascina\/images\/pallini.svg\" alt=\"divisore\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Sustainable mobility, on and off the farm<\/h2>\n<p>Since 2025, our guests have had access to <strong>charging points for electric cars and e-bikes<\/strong>. You can charge your vehicles during your stay and set off to explore Roero at your own pace and emission-free: the paths through the vineyards, the villages and the local wineries are all accessible by e-bike.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/colonnine-ricarica-roero.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1290\" height=\"664\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>No single-use plastic<\/h2>\n<p>In our communal areas and at breakfast, we avoid single-use plastic as much as we can; where this isn\u2019t possible, we opt for biodegradable materials. The products we use to prepare breakfast come mainly from local farms and small local shops.<\/p>\n<p>We have removed single-use bottles from the rooms: shampoo and shower gel are provided in <strong>refillable dispensers<\/strong>. To clean the rooms and communal areas, we mainly use products from a company that adopts responsible production criteria and is located just a few kilometres from here. Outdoor lighting is LED. We try to keep printing to a minimum.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter dividi\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/cascina\/images\/pallini.svg\" alt=\"divisore\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>You too can contribute during your stay<\/h2>\n<p>Waste sorting has been part of Cascina Ponchietta\u2019s day-to-day operations for many years. On arrival, we will show you where the bins are: we ask you to use them to help us respect the environment around us.<br \/>\nWe also invite you to be mindful when requesting a change of sheets and towels: replacing them only when you really need to helps reduce the use of water and detergents.<br \/>\nSustainability is made up of small gestures, every day.
