Before you arrive, here are the questions our guests ask us most often. From our rooms and services to the surrounding area and pet-friendly hospitality: you will find clear answers to help you plan your stay in the hills of Roero, Piedmont, Italy.
The farm house and the area
What type of accommodation is Agriturismo Cascina Ponchietta?
Cascina Ponchietta is a family-run agriturismo in Montà (CN), in the Roero, Piedmont. Since the year 2000 we have offered authentic hospitality rooted in our farming activity and the land around us, different from a hotel or B&B, to let you truly experience nature and the countryside.
Where is the agriturismo located and what are the main attractions in the area?
We are located on the hills of Roero, in Frazione San Vito, about 3 km from the village of Montà (CN). In Montà you will find the Tourist Office of the “Ecomuseo delle Rocche del Roero”, a reference point for experiences, trails and activities in the area. The perfect spot for exploring the surroundings: Alba and the Langhe are 20 km away, Asti, Bra and Monferrato about 30 km and Turin around 40 km, ideal for a weekend escape from the city.
Are you in Roero or Langhe? What’s the difference?
We are in Roero, in Montà (CN), one of the most beautiful destinations in Piedmont for a romantic weekend in an agritourism or a relaxed travel escape into nature. The Roero (left bank of the Tanaro river) is wilder and more irregular: forests, orchards and the spectacular Rocche. The Langhe (right bank) have a more open landscape, with the great vineyards of Barolo and Barbaresco. Both areas offer hiking tours, wine tasting and the various flavours of the territory, and from our agritourism you can reach both places in just a few minutes.
Your stay
Do you offer lunch or dinner service?
We don’t offer restaurant service. All rooms and studio apartments include breakfast; the studio apartments also have a private kitchen. For lunch and dinner we recommend restaurants, other agritourism and trattorias nearby, authentic places appreciated for the quality of their products and their connection to the flavours of the land.
Can we stay for one night only?
Yes, one-night stays are possible depending on availability and the time of year. During peak season and holidays, a minimum stay of two nights for the rooms and three nights for the studio apartments is required.
Is the pool reserved for Agriturismo guests?
The panoramic pool is reserved for our guests, open approximately from May to October. Surrounded by green hills and vineyards, it is a truly relaxing spot, whether you are enjoying a romantic getaway or a family break in the open air. We may occasionally welcome a small number of non-resident guests, always by prior arrangement and with the tranquillity of our guests in mind.
Do you welcome dogs? Is it a pet-friendly farmhouse?
We are animal lovers and we live here with our two dogs, Merlino and Ringo. That is why we will gladly welcome small dogs on request, subject to room availability. We ask for dogs to be kept on a leash in shared spaces. Access to the breakfast area and pool is not permitted. A supplement of EUR 10 for the entire stay applies for your four-legged friend.
