Beginnings
Ours is a family firmly entrenched in the territory. The passion and respect for nature that characterize our lives originate from Grandpa Giuseppe (born in 1934) and Grandma Maria (born in 1944), who are native of San Vito, the hamlet of Montà in which the Agriturismo is located.
Giuseppe, Maria and their six children arrived in Ponchietta in 1973, and here they carried on their activity, breeding Razza Piemontese cattle, starting their vineyards, farming their fields and growing cereals and hazelnuts.
Vittorio (born in 1967), one of Giuseppe’s children, lived with his family in the farmhouse (built around 1920) until 1990, and attended the agricultural school of Grinzane Cavour, graduating in 1986. Marina (born in 1969) lived in Alba and, after finishing middle school, immediately started working with great passion in the family bakery.
Marina and Vittorio met in 1991 and got married in 1994. They wanted to create a beautiful and big family and, between 1995 and 2001, their 4 children were born: Giulia, Francesco, Pietro and Giacomo.
In 1998 inspiration struck. Marina and Vittorio started dreaming of creating an Agriturismo in the old farmhouse and, in January 2000, their dream became reality. The old farmhouse underwent renovation with the precise intent to maintain its original characteristics; at the end of September 2000, with great satisfaction, the Agriturismo was inaugurated.

This task is also made easy by the central location of the Agriturismo, just 40 km from the beautiful city of Turin, 30 km from Asti and Bra and 22 km from Alba, the capital city of the UNESCO wine landscape of Langhe and Roero.
Our Agriturismo is surrounded by greenery and located in a panoramic position and in a perfect place to relax.
We offer 4 comfortable rooms with private bathroom (one of which is designed for people with disabilities) and 3 studio apartments with fully equipped kitchens, for a stay in full autonomy.
Both rooms and studio apartments are equipped with LCD TV and free Wi-Fi connection.
During the summer months you can dive into our swimming pool, which is nestled in the gorgeous vineyards of the Roero hills.
Our safe outdoor play area will be perfect for your kids.
And, to highlight our location in an area well-known for its food and wine excellence, one of the strengths of the Agriturismo Cascina Ponchietta is our breakfast.
To start your day in the best possible way we offer products from our farm and from Km0 farms that love and respect the environment.
You will enjoy a delicious variety of baked goods, such as our special hazelnut cake, in addition to cold cuts and typical DOP cheeses from Langhe and Roero.
And, last but not least, you can taste our wines: Langhe Nebbiolo doc, Piemonte Barbera doc, then Caio and Birbet obtained from the vinification of Brachetto grapes.
