Our story
Cascina Ponchietta is a farm stay in the heart of the Roero, in Piedmont. Since 2000, our family has welcomed guests here at the farm, in the rolling countryside. Behind it, though, lie decades of hard work, toil and passion.
In 1973, Giuseppe and Maria, Vittorio’s grandparents, originally from San Vito di Montà, settled at Ponchietta with their six children, bringing with them everything they knew how to do: raising Piedmontese cattle, growing vines, grain and hazelnuts.
Vittorio grew up on the farm and graduated in 1986 from the Scuola Agraria di Grinzane Cavour. Marina was born in Alba and worked in her family’s bakery.
Different paths, brought together by a shared dream: to build something of their own. They married in 1994, and the farmhouse came to life: Giulia, Francesco, Pietro and Eleonora were born between 1995 and 2001.
It was during those years that a simple but ambitious idea took shape: to open their doors to guests. The manor house, built around 1920, was restored with care to preserve its original soul. In September 2000, the farm stay was born, one of the first in the Roero. Since then, the farm and its hospitality have grown side by side.
