ROERO: where it is and why choose it as your holiday destination
Located in Piedmont, right next to the more well-known Langhe area, Roero extends through the Cuneo province and it’s characterized by an unique landscape, rolling hills, neat rows of vineyards and the breathtaking rocche, deep fissures in the earth caused by geological erosion though the passing of centuries.
What makes Roero special is, indeed, this sharp contrast between fine elegance and the wild, untamed nature of the land: right beside historical boroughs, medieval castles and small cellars, you’ll find wide untouched natural areas, scenic trails and woodlands rich in biodiversity.
It’s a land of great wines, such as the Roero Arneis and the Roero DOCG, and of gastronomic delights, but it offers much more than a simple enogastronimic journey: it’s a region to be explored slowly, that will share authentic stories with those willing to listen and observe.
What to visit, where to sleep and where to eat in ROERO
In Roero every experience is an invite to slow down and let yourself be amazed: historical boroughs, breathtaking landscapes, castles, vineyards and the spectacular Rocche, perfect for those who love walking in nature as they follow along throughout the land.
For your stay, choose agriturismi, with their authentic flavour, welcoming bed &breakfasts and charming accommodations nestled between the green hills.
As for the pleasures of the table: authentic trattorias and curated restaurants where the Piedmontese cuisine meets the great wines of the terroir, turning every meal into an experience to remember.
*If you’re looking for an agriturismo surrounded by nature in the gentle hills of the Roero, take a look at our rooms and studio apartments here at Cascina Ponchietta. We are open from April to December and we also have a swimming pool!
